CSG Group Showcases Tatra Automation and TADEAS Vehicle at Signal Forces Conference
On June 4 and 5, the 9th annual prestigious Conference of the Signal Corps took place in Lipník nad Bečvou, where companies from the CSG (Czechoslovak Group) presented several interesting research and development projects that they are currently working on and developing further in field conditions. Tatra Defence Systems was responsible for coordinating the themes of the individual presentations by CSG companies. The presentations were tailored to the current requirements of the Czech Army for systems and equipment in the field of command post construction and development, which was also one of the main topics of the conference.

Tatra Defence Vehicle (TDV) has unveiled a brand new platform developed and manufactured in the Czech Republic, called TADEAS (TAtra DEfence Armoured Solution), based on the Tatra 6×6 chassis. The vehicle offers a wide range of uses and was developed in cooperation with Tatra Trucks, a long-standing partner. The design is adapted to integrate a wide range of technological and electronic equipment for mobile command posts.
TADEAS falls into the medium to heavy category, with a payload of up to 10 tons depending on the level of equipment and protection, and a total weight of up to 30 tons. The vehicle is primarily intended for use as a command vehicle, engineering vehicle, communications platform, or special vehicle (ambulance, special equipment carrier, etc.), but it can also be used by rescue services, firefighters, or the police. The TADEAS vehicle on display was also equipped with a smart camera system from Retia, which provides situational awareness and an overview of what is happening around the vehicle. Retia has long been involved not only in the development of radars and air defense systems, but also in command and control systems and electronic installations for military vehicles.

The Tatra Force project, featuring automated driving with remote control capabilities, was presented to experts at a conference organized by Tatra Trucks in cooperation with the Technical University of Ostrava. During dynamic demonstrations, the vehicle showcased the possibilities of new technologies associated with the automated control system, with the connection between the vehicle itself and the remote control station utilizing communication means used by the Czech Army within the Tactical Radio Communication System architecture.

Pocket Virtuality has introduced Lumnio, an electronic system that provides effective training, service, and repair support. Lumnio uses digital documentation to support vehicle crews. The system includes a database of service procedures, manuals, and instructional materials (including 3D elements, videos, and photos) that are displayed via smart glasses directly in the technician's field of vision. The advantage is that it allows hands-free operation, and the system also supports the use of standard mobile devices (tablets, smartphones). The system is optimized for use in both service centers and field conditions.

Excalibur Army brought the Hector observation and patrol vehicle on a Toyota Land Cruiser chassis to Lipník. Its key component is the Guardian 1.5 remote-controlled station with opto-electronic sensors for day and night operation, which is also equipped with a heavy 12.7 mm M2 machine gun. In this configuration, Hector can be used very effectively as part of the protection of command posts.

Excalibur International, which specializes in large international projects and comprehensive turnkey deliveries within the CSG group, showcased drones of various categories. These are designed to protect the perimeter of command posts and also to be integrated into vehicles to extend their reconnaissance capabilities.
Up Vision also presented MES software designed to support decision-making processes at command posts. As part of a dynamic demonstration, unmanned vehicles communicating via 5G networks were integrated into the system directly in the environment of the Czech Army.
Tatra Defence Systems demonstrated to army specialists the integration of communication and information systems into vehicles, their cooperation with unmanned aerial vehicles, and the introduction of advanced and disruptive technologies into ground military platform equipment. At the same time, it coordinated and interconnected the functionalities of all CSG companies participating in this year's Signal Corps Conference in Lipník nad Bečvou.
The ninth annual conference once again confirmed that Czech companies associated with the CSG Group, in cooperation with the Czech Armed Forces, are capable of delivering innovative and comprehensive solutions for modern combat environments – from chassis platforms, sensors, effectors, information and communication systems, to highly sophisticated automated and autonomous systems.
